It has been a long day, back to back meetings, and you are slammed with a list of usability problems based on a recent usability testing. Each problem is like a newborn puppy looking at you with those cute puppy eyes, yearning for your attention.
Which puppy deserves your first and foremost attention? I came across this book - Thinking Like a UX Researcher - and here's a useful framework provided provided by the authors - David Travis and Philip Hodgson.
In this framework, you prioritize the problems discovered during the usability testing by asking the team these 3 questions:
1) Is the problem high impact enough?
2) How many users are affected by this issue?
3) How persistent is this problem?
The most pressing problems are those that are 'Critical', followed by 'Serious', 'Medium', and 'Low'.
